Our decals are produced through a one-color silkscreen process. The waterslide decal designs are quick and easy to apply to finished ceramic pieces, then fire again at a very low temperature to permanently fuse to the ceramic surface.
Ideal for applying logos, illustrations, or maker’s marks to give your pottery a consistent, professional brand presence.
Available in black or white. Additional colors by request.
Silkscreen decals work well for graphic artwork, logos, and typography. Vector artwork is required in AI, EPS, or SVG file format to ensure sharp edges and accurate scaling.
Artwork is arranged on a single sheet measuring 10.25” × 15.5” (26 × 39 cm), with a printable area of 9.25” × 13.5” (23.5 × 34.5 cm). The printable area may be filled with multiple designs. Leave ample space in between graphics so that you can easily cut them out with scissors for application.
To check your file meets requirements, email info@francatools.com and we will be happy to review it. If you require extensive design assistance, we are happy to provide it for a fee.
Silkscreen decals apply best on smooth surfaces free of texture. Glossy, glazed ceramics are ideal, but unglazed surfaces work as long as they are incredibly smooth and free of texture.
We recommend test firing when working on matte or unglazed finishes.

Cut out the design and soak for a couple minutes in a dish of distilled water. Place the decal on the ceramic surface, slide the decal off of the paper backing, and gently squeegee out excess water. Wipe the piece dry, then allow to dry for 5 hours before firing.
Firing temperature: Cone 015 (1450°F / 788°C)
Remove the top peep during firing to allow proper ventilation.
A one-time $45.00 setup fee covers preparation of one custom silkscreen used to print your design.
Approximate Printing Cost:
10 sheets: $4 each
20 sheets: $3.50 each
30 sheets: $3 each
50+ sheets: $2 each
Pricing will vary depending on color and density of artwork. Multi-color designs require a separate silkscreen for each color, so pricing is calculated per color, per screen. For multiple pages of artwork, each sheet incurs an additional setup fee.
